Roaring River Soggy & Santa 2019

Mid morning, we headed to a different part of the river.

It was still raining.

It didn't pour, just a constant rain.

Have you even fished while holding an umbrella?
I don't highly recommend it. :)

It quit for a while about the time I snagged a trout for myself!
My boys are always willing to grab the net and help out.

But I did want my photo with it.

It rained again, but these guys don't give up.

Even if Daddy is ready to because all he doesn't is untangle fishing line. (ha!)

During that rain, Cooper caught one of his best fish for the weekend!

He (and others) were a delicious lunch!

Derek spent some time tying flies during our lunch break.

Owen had begged me to pack his Santa Suit...
Turns out came in handy when all his other jackets were wet!

He was the only Santa on the playground.

And on the river bank.

And his poncho kept it dry.  Though it couldn't help the bottom end.

The rain let up a little for the end of the day.  That's when Miles added to the creature caught count.

And Derek tried out just a few more flies before we were done.

The river got all foggy, to go along with our soggy.

I had my "Camping Hair Don't Care" hat...
Rain or not, I don't bother with hair or make up when camping.

We had a little trouble with dinner that night since we planned on roasting hot dogs over the fire.  The fire wood got wet, even under our canopy, but Derek finally got it going so we could eat dinner.
And s'mores!
