Oklahoma Scotfest 2018

If you read about our week at AudioFeed this summer, you might remember the Flatfoot56 show I posted about.  When we heard Flatfoot was going to Broken Arrow at the Oklahoma Scotfest, we made plans to go see them.

We arrived at the Scotfest and had to shuttle from a nearby college.

Which was fine with the boys. Owen is still talking about riding on the school bus to Flatfoot!

We got off the bus and walked through the vendor tents.

...along with a lot of men in kilts drinking beer.  :)

Miles didn't think he could pull off a kilt.

Owen on the other hand, begged us to buy this one! ha.

One of the main attractions of the festival is the Highland Games.  It was fun to watch the unusual competition.  And to hear the announcer with his accent!

We saw some iron working.

And bounce houses.

Watched some Celtic dancing.

And soon headed to the tent where Flatfoot was setting up.

This is when Cooper joined in a kid's game.

The goal being to get the Oreo off your forehead into your mouth using only your facial muscles.

Cooper came in second place!

Which earned him two bags of candy.

Then it was time for the concert.

Owen fell asleep about 2 minutes in...

But the rest of us enjoyed the music!

Although somehow I didn't get a photo of the guitar player in the kilt while he was playing his bagpipes.  Oops.

Miles took a video, if you get motion sick, you might want to skip this one! hahaha!

Owen was still asleep when it was time to go.

The big boys needed to check the pond for creatures quick before we left though.
Miles caught a tiny minnow.  Shocker.

Then we went to wait for our shuttle bus back to our car.

Everyone was a bit hot and tired by this point.

But we had a great time parading around the Scotfest in our Parental Petulance attire.
