Roaring River Wrap Up 2018

One last morning at Roaring River, the big boys were up dressing...

And sorting flies...

While Owen slept in, yet again.

When he did wake up, he requested Oreos and milk for breakfast.  Sure, why not? #campcooking
He has quite the life!

We soon joined the big guys at the river, where we'd found Cooper had a trout on his stringer.

And they must have been biting well that morning...
I finally got one!  I look all crazy and tense because this was take number three after the slimy fish had wiggled out of my hands before Derek snapped the photo!

Derek, however, looks like a pro posing with his.

Speaking of pro.  Miles was catching crayfish at pro level by then!

And even snagged anther crazy little sculpin.

Owen can hold his own, we walked up to the restroom and he found some little centipedes on the way back and carried them all the way to show Miles.

He never did catch his own, but loved helping with everyone else's.

It's too bad he didn't snag one, because something clicked (the reel button perhaps!? ha) and he suddenly had the hang of actually casting his line!

He's not even mad about it though.  He loves fish.

That wrapped the fishing!  Miles got one more chance at the swimming hole while Derek cleaned fish.

And, of course, caught some minnows.

We went back to tear down camp.  Owen found a shady spot to have a snack.

After they finished their tear down tasks, his brothers joined him.

Once loaded up, we stopped at the park nature center on our way out.
Ummmm... I forgot to take photos inside.  Oops.

Then one last adventure, we went on the hatchery tour.

Cooper caught a little lizard while we were waiting for the tour to start.

It was pretty!

The tour covered the spring, which is beautiful.

And then explained all the stages of raising trout.

Ending at the 'retirement' pond where some of the trout are nearly 10 years old!

They also gave us handfuls of fish food to toss in, so that kept us busy for a while.

Then, it was time to head home.  Hot and tired, these guys posed for one last photo!

Until next time, Roaring River!
