On Monday morning moving day, we took the big boys to school, then Owen talked me into letting him have an early morning snack. Leftover road trip Oreos. Only he only eats the filling. He tried to give the cookie parts to the neighborhood cat, Brutus when he showed up.
About then, the moving truck showed up too.
They propped all the doors open to start carrying things outside to load.
I soon walked around a corner to find Brutus had considered the doors open for him and made himself right at home.
Owen was a little surprised to see the cat in the house.
But he didn't mind and thought it was fun, since we don't usually allow them in there!
I took him (her?) back out several times, but with the doors open, I finally just gave up.
Lay where you will, cat. At least the chosen spot was never on the furniture.
Owen sat outside for a while so we were out of the way.
Then the crazy cat took over that space too. haha.
The truck was loaded and ready to go before it was time to pick the big boys up from school.
And the house looking very empty.
Empty houses make me extremely sentimental and emotional.
Goodbye, for now, stuff!
Well... except for the stuff we needed for the two weeks of 'between' time. Which seemed excessive.
The movers couldn't take the mower since there was still gas in it, so Derek mowed the yard one last time and then loaded the mower into his car.
We had one more night in our little house on Weeshire. So we all slept on the floor like we were camping out. Goodnight!
