Moving - The Drive to Tulsa

On our final morning at our Peoria house, the boys took some time to say goodbye to the neighborhood cats.

While we finished loading the rest of our belongings, they hugged (?) Brutus.

And Thrasher.

And took a whole lot of photos to remember them by!

Soon we were waving goodbye to our house for the last time and dropping the boys off at school.

Then we ditched one of our cars. (Parked it at the hotel we'd be coming back to) and hit the road toward Oklahoma.

We hit stand still traffic in St Louis.

Then had car trouble by the time we hit Joplin.

The Durango has an intermittent issue with overheating that not even our mechanic can figure out.  We were pulling our little boat, so that's probably a lot of the cause this time, but it meant we drove the remainder of our trip with the heat on.  It does something to help pull the coolant through?  Did I mention it was 85ยบ?

We had to push it a little though, since we were meeting our realtor at the house for the final walk through.   We finally made it, only a few minutes late.

Owen helped with the walk through and posed for a photo.

....while the Durango got to cool down.

I stole the following photos from Marshall's Instagram feed.  Levi and Knox were taking great care of our big boys, who were enjoying dinner at Lou's Drive-In!

Then ice cream at Emo's.

Next they went to the Riverfront Museum.

They had a great time.

And Miles got to see some bug exhibits!
He missed a class field trip here because we were out of town, so this helped make up for it!

Meanwhile, we went to check into our hotel.  Owen remembered staying there before and as soon as we pulled into the parking lot he said, "Hey! This has a swimming pool!"! :)
