Nothing or Something

I'm actually struggling with what to post about. (Never doubt that I'll come up with absolutely nothing, and post about that. ha!)   After Labor Day and Miles' birthday, Owen came down with a fever.  We later realized it was the beginning of Hand Foot Mouth Disease (!!!) which meant we hibernated for a couple weeks.  But first, there was a weekend with a low grade fever...   before the storm? :)

I kept Owen home from Life Group while the rest of the guys went to enjoy "Life Group at Lake Schmeid".  Bummer.

Since the weather was so nice, we went for a walk on the trail by our house while they were gone.

Owen was feeling up to a selfie to send to Daddy and tell him what we were up to.

He was also feeling up to pointing out every.single.bunny.

The next day, he felt well enough to play outside for a while.
In pajama pants.

He had to run back in and grab a hat...

Because he wanted to join Miles at the hummingbird feeder.

The next day, he played a little basketball.

And we ate lunch outside.

During lunch someone noticed a really strange flock of birds circling overhead.

Derek ran to get his binoculars and we discovered they were pelicans!!
I stole this photo from the internet, but this is what they looked like!

They boys took turns looking at them as they flew together in a circling motion then gradually moved on.

Later, in the front yard, we saw another big bird.  We see a hawk around our neighborhood often, but this wasn't our hawk.

It was a bald eagle!!  When we first saw it, we could make it out perfectly, but it caught the updraft and was quickly high enough we could barely see it.

Miles was on the lookout for interesting things in the sky the rest of the day.

See, a post about nothing...   stay tuned for more.  😏
