Bessmer Becoming Barron - The Rehearsal Dinner

When the rehearsal invitation says, "Husker Attire", we follow instructions!
(I mentioned I lived in Nebraska growing up? Once a Husker, ALWAYS a husker! 😃)

We didn't have a part in the wedding, so didn't need to be at the actual rehearsal.  So while the wedding party did their thing...
(Bride, my cousin, Ashley Bessmer, and Groom, Carlos Barron)

We killed time at the dinner venue.  It was near a practice football field, so the boys played catch.

Derek gave a few demonstrations about how the practice equipment works.

There was a brand new playground too.  So new that the mulch was still piled up... which later held a game of "King of the Hill" and brought mulch back to our hotel room by the shoe full.

The ring handles weren't on the monkey bars yet, but Cooper went for it anyway.

The boys also found a large praying mantis.  They named it and left it in a bush, checking on it throughout the night.

Barkley was there too!  He went after Owen with kisses.

The boys had a little playtime with the puppy.

Then it was time to eat!

Dad and his sister, Aunt Sarah (mother of the bride), got to sit together at dinner.

Some of us took our mess outside. :)

After eating, the boys played more catch with my cousin TJ.
(Who Owen calls, "Blue Jay")

A whole bunch of people came streaming inside about they time dessert was served...

Turns out, it was because the sprinkler system came on!!

Owen and Papa were already inside with us, nice and dry.

It was a nice evening spent catching up with family...
And a fun way to spend Mom's birthday!!
