Summer in Illinois is fickle. One day you need a jacket, the next day the heat index is 110º! Miles isn't deterred by either, he was out in the sweltering heat... catching bugs!
Most of the time, the temperatures are in the high 80's, maybe low to mid 90's. Just right for an afternoon treat of ice cream outside.
Warm enough that if they don't eat quick it will melt!
Ask Owen, who is typically the last one done.
No big deal, I just clean him off in the pool!
We like to eat lunch outside too. Toward the end of summer, when I felt it was quickly slipping away, we did this often!
On sunny afternoons, we would head out and get things set up while Owen was napping.
When he woke up, he would have his snack outside...
Then join the fun!
Sometime we ate dinner outside too. Inevitably, someone ended up playing in the pool water.
Sometimes using goggles, even if they weren't in swim trunks.
Oh, summer!

Though we'll have to replace our baby pool since the top ring popped.
...I'm sure it had nothing to do with boys practicing fishing in it.
