Independence Day in Iowa 2017 - Fireworks!

We went into Yale and found a place right outside the town ball field where they set off the fireworks.   (Only because they don't allow sitting right on the field anymore) We laid our blankets out and got comfortable.

But since we had time to kill until dark...  there was quite a bit of wrestling on said blankets.

Or running circles and dragging G'pa Dale around.

They do the raffle at that point in the day, and announce the winners of the parade entries.  Cooper and Miles went up to accept G'pa Don's when his name was called for his 'Batmobile'.

A firefly showed up to keep Owen company.

And as it got dark we pulled out our glow sticks.

Apparently I brought more that we could actually play with or wear.

But that didn't stop me from trying!  I like to be festive! :)

Cousin Tom ha given the kids some sparklers so they used those while we waited too.

Miles has always been my 'class clown'.  This boys keeps us laughing, his dance moves with a sparkler were hysterical.

Cooper trying to write his name here and I accidentally took a photo instead of a video! ha.

Owen wasn't as fond of fire shooting at him. (good boy. hahaha)

Soon the fireworks show started!

For a small town display, they always do a great job.  Owen didn't love it or hate it.

Happy (end of) Independence Day!!   What a great day celebrating our great nation!
