Monday morning in Vegas: Derek headed to the Convention Center for NAB.
I headed to find some sunshine.
I found it and sat around the pool for most of the morning.
The weather was perfect for enjoying the sun, but only needing to dip my feet in to stay cool enough.
I did a little more sight seeing in the afternoon. aka: walked around a huge, three story mall. Then when Derek got done with work, (the show closed down every day at 6pm) we went to find some dinner. This part of the trip was SO much fun, it was date night, every night!! 💕💗💕
Uhhh, in a crowded casino. Ha.
The casinos are busy, but the restaurants around the edges are nice. Some of them too nice... you know, for the high rollers. Speaking of rolls... 😊 Derek knew I wanted to eat sushi rolls while on this trip, this was the night. yum.
And, also speaking of high rollers... that's what this is called.
It's the "World's Largest Observation Wheel". And it was next on our "to-do" list.
You can also see a it sticking up in the previous post with Derek's "What are you taking a photo of now?" look. This thing doesn't look like much more than your typical ferris wheel from a ways away, but it's HUGE! (520ft high) After you enter the building and climb a couple flights of stairs to the platform, these pods come around. People get off one side and then more people get on from the other side.
All this happens and they never stop moving, as you can see in this video.
I restrained from Googling, "How many drunk people stumble into the cargo net below the High Roller ride in Las Vegas" and sat back to enjoy the view. Which included the Bellagio fountains from above.
It was quite the view looking down too!
We were in a pod with a small group of girls, so even though the maximum capacity is forty people, we nearly had one to ourselves for the thirty minute ride. Maybe because we didn't choose the ticket for the one with an open bar? ha. And... we had good cell service up above all the big buildings. So we may have checked our phones for a minute.
But mostly, we enjoyed the view of Las Vegas from above.
