"Christmas" at Home

Every year before we head to Wichita for Christmas, we have our own "Christmas" at home.  I searched all my usual places for Christmas "McQueen" wrapping paper for Owen and finally settled on regular paper from the birthday section.  He wouldn't care...  I wrapped 'em up!
"Something you want, something you need, something to wear, something to read."
Then later that evening found the Christmas "Cars" paper at Dollar Tree... too late! ha.

As we woke up on "Christmas", Owen found the gifts and the stockings filled.

Derek read the story of Jesus' birth while the boys acted it out with the nativity set.

Then it was time for gifts!

As I suspected, Owen liked the paper and didn't care that it wasn't Christmas paper.
He also might have liked it more than what was inside of some. ha.

Except for maybe these slippers, I think they were his favorite gift!

All the boys got slippers.

It was such fun chaos and Owen caught right on.

It didn't take long to get it all opened.

Our lazy day included cinnamon rolls.

And playing with gifts just opened.  Once this tackle box was opened, the fishing plans were in full force.

Owen played with a new train set.

Sometimes while wearing his new McQueen backpack.

Once Owen was napping, there were card games...

And Legos.

Legos are more fun when Owen is sleeping.

The laziness continued with some Netflix.

Owen admired cousin Izzie's Christmas card that arrived in the mail...
We also FaceTimed with Izzie, since it was her first birthday that day!!

Snacks and a movie ended our evening...  an oldie but a goodie, ha:  "Home Alone"
