Miles' Tooth Trauma (and Toy)

A couple weeks ago, Derek and I were in the kitchen and heard the boys wrestling in the next room. (nothing new or unusual.)  But all the sudden Miles started yelling, "I think I have a loose tooth!".  I had been thinking it was about time for that, but when he came into the kitchen, one of his bottom teeth was sticking straight out!  He sure did have a loose tooth...   thanks to Cooper yanking a pillow out of his mouth! ha!!

I don't know if it was loose before the pillow tug of war, but it must have been getting ready to be at least.  And it really couldn't stay that way, so he started working on getting it out.

There were some tears and sorrow. At one point he said, "I didn't want to lose a tooth yet." like he might miss it.  But he was all smiles when it finally did come out about twenty minutes later.

Which is good, because we were about to eat corn on the cob!

Immediately after dinner he started working on the other bottom tooth!  Loosing his first tooth so quickly gave him a slightly skewed perspective of how the process should work.

But by bedtime, there was still only one tooth to put under his pillow.

And one dollar under there in the morning!

But that dollar was even more motivation to get that other one out.

Still with only one tooth lost and one dollar in his wallet, he was pumped when we needed to stop at Dollar Tree.

He debated between all the fun things he's had his eye on lately.

And settled on this toy lizard.

He went through his own line and checked out with his goods.

Back at home, he wanted to have an apple...  to try and get that other tooth out.

It didn't work.  But he'd wiggled it so much it was just dangling.

Three days after the original pillow incident, both bottom teeth were history!

Miles says he's saving this dollar.  At least until we need to go to Dollar Tree again. :)
