Independence Day 2016 - A Day on the Farm

The first morning on the farm, the boys were anxious to get a ride on the four wheeler.

And I'm pretty sure Derek was anxious to try some long range target practice.

The rest of the day included more fun.
Like the whole house search for the missing binky.  We never did find it, even with a reward offered.

We left the Van Gundy farm and headed over to the Mleynek's.
Derek had gone over there with his Dad and our big boys a little earlier than the rest of us.  It didn't take long at all to set up some cans and see who could knock them over.

At some point Derek realized Miles is left eye dominant and shoots left handed, even though he's right handed.  It's odd, but my Dad is that way too.  Odd... er, I mean left eye dominant. :)

Owen helped G'ma Debbie pull some weeds.  So while he was busy...

I headed out and proved to my big boys that I'm cut out for this boy mom thing.
I did too, got the can on the second shot.  I just had to adjust a little after the first. ha.

We love to explore the farm.

Owen was very curious, especially when he spotted what was out there.

Cows!

This was the first time we've been back there since G'ma Neva's funeral.  It wasn't completely sad, but so different without G'ma around.  The meal G'pa fed us would have made her proud though, no one went hungry!  Just like G'ma liked.

Fish Fry and the Fixins'.

G'pa Dale brought sodas for the boys.  Cooper's was "Dinosaur Dung" and Miles' was "Dragon Drool".   (Chocolate and Black Licorice flavors)

Later, back at Van Gundy's, we put glow sticks on Owen to help keep track of him.

It helped us spot him getting into the parade candy laid out for the next day!

Then we all went out to watch more fireworks blow up.

Cooper and Miles also wore glow sticks, one around their necks and one on each wrist...
and it worked perfectly to tell exactly where they were in the dark!
