In between Thanksgiving and Christmas Miles caught a bug. Not the insect kind that he prefers, but a stomach bug of some sort. He had a belly ache for about a week. He only threw up once, at church (oh brother) but had 'the runs' and felt icky most of seven days. He could often be found with 7Up, crackers and a bucket nearby.
Cooper and Owen escaped it completely and went on as normal.
But Miles just really wasn't feeling like himself.
He lost his appetite and I had trouble getting him to eat things he normally likes. His meals and snacks were often crackers or toast. He lost about 4 pounds... which is a lot when you only weigh 50lbs to begin with!
Just when I'd think maybe he was over it, I walk into a room and see that he'd grabbed a bucket again, thinking he'd need to use it.
I did let him take it easy that week...
But since it went on so long, he managed to keep up with school too, bucket nearby.
Then, after he was finally over the tummy trouble and eating better,
he started randomly breaking out in hives.
And his eyes looked bloodshot.
The hives weren't bad and went away with Benadryl.
But since he had a sore throat and cold symptoms too, and friends had strep, we went to the doctor to check him out. He was negative for strep and mono... but had a double ear infection.
We got him an antibiotic to get him all fixed up!
And he was nice enough to share the cold symptoms and icky eyes with his brothers.
This cold virus affected their eyes, they didn't even complain about them.
Thankfully, we were mostly well and ready to go before Christmas!
Poor Miles!! I love the photo of Cooper reading to Owen - precious!
