On Independence Day we went to the Van Gundy (Derek's Mom's side) Family reunion.
My boys immediately jumped into a game of Wahoo! This was Grandpa Gordie's Mom, G'ma Zella's, favorite game. I grew up calling in Aggravation, and it has several other names too.
After they finished playing games, Cooper and Miles headed down to the beach.
And did a little swimming.
The bigger people participated in a volleyball tournament.
Here is our team: Gordie's Gunners!
(They lost but had fun)
Owen did great, it wasn't too hot, and slept most of the time.
And there were lots of family willing to help out. :)
He was well looked after.
And got lots of snuggles.
We also ate...
And before dark, my boys snuck in some fishing.
Uncle Bruce and Aunt Brenda played some bags.
(there are lots of names for this game too!)
And my boys played at the playground a little.
Grandma Debbie to the rescue when Miles got himself perched up top and couldn't get down!
And Grandma Jan finally got her hands on Owen!
There were photo ops too.
Grandpa Gordie and his living siblings. There were twelve of them.
And their kids, the cousins!
Our family:
And the oldest and youngest Van Gundy family members!
This photo later made the local newspaper.
There was live music... and when I heard "Achy Breaky Heart" I looked up to Grandpa Gordie had started the line dance! Everyone had a great time!
