Independence Day Introduction

Happy 4th!  Oh, it's August 4th?  Well, Happy Independence Day...a month late!  A month later, I'm still going to tell you all about our celebrations in Iowa.  We woke up and got around and I soon found Miles hanging out with Uncle Drew.

Cooper was already out riding around on and driving farm equipment.

We soon headed into town for the annual omelet breakfast.

Or scrambled eggs and a patriotic muffin for the boys.

Most of the guys headed out to the farm to get the tractors that they would drive in the parade...
while we headed over to the parade.

The flags get things started.

We all pause while the high school band plays the national anthem.

Then all the parade entries start going by.
...one of the first was spray painted goats!

And Uncle Bob & Aunt Kathy.

And fire trucks from all around.

And our (Grandpa Gordie's) tractors!
Grandpa Dale was on this one and threw a lot of candy our way.

Laney waved sweetly from her seat with G'pa Gordie.

And Daddy came by too.

He threw the most candy of all!

Which Miles tasted soon after.

Cooper saw this one coming and declared it was his favorite.
We like to see the Corn Kings every year.

..these boys made out well this year!

Then Cooper got to ride with Daddy to take the tractor back to the farm.

Miles and I tracked them down though and switched boys half way.

And we all headed out to G'ma Jan's for lunch.
