Independence Day Igniting

We woke up the morning after Independence Day and cleaned up a little.

Then spent some time playing with Snickers, the dog.

We had a fish fry at the Mleynek farm and somehow (too busy eating delicious fish) I don't have pictures.  But we played a game of kickball later to try and work some of it off!

Once it started to get dark, everyone gathered in the driveway.

And some of the boys lit off some fireworks.
(Thanks to G'pa Dale, who came through Missouri and purchased them on the way.)

Grandpa is also kind of the instigator...

But Cooper soon started lighting his own.

And lighting fireworks means you light it and RUN!

He got the hang of it quickly.

And Miles got in on it a little too.

They both got pretty good at the running away part!

And the onlookers approved of the show.

There was a lot of smoke from the fireworks...
So there was a little fun with that too.

Once things wound down, i.e. when the fireworks ran out...

We had cake to celebrate Alisa, Trey's girlfriend's, birthday.

Then at the very end of the night Drew got out his telescope and we had a close up look at the moon.
