Independence Day Inevitable

It was inevitable... our time on the farm had come to an end.  On the last morning, Cooper begged to go visit the chickens one more time.

And my 'visit' he means chase, corner, frighten and catch the chickens.

Which he actually did quite well!

He loved them... eww.  And even named a few.

Miles took a little longer to get over his fear of their sudden movements when grabbed, but he finally got 'em!  For fun, we made a video of the action:

It was some chicken chasin' fun!

I took the boys in and made them take a shower.  But while we were loading the car, they caught a toad. :-/   A teeny, tiny little guy.

We finally hit the road and the boys got to ride with G'ma until Des Moines.
There was evidently some goofing off.

We all made a stop in Des Moines at Trader Joe's.
Quickly becoming one of my favorite stores, we need one closer!

Lastly, G'pa Dale took us all to lunch before parting ways.

Miles doubled up on photos and got in one with his uncles too.

And....  the road home looked something like this!

We made it safe and sound and ready to catch up!
