Following tradition our Independence Day started out at the omelet
breakfast with Grandpa Don & Grandma Neenee.
Where we eat made to order omelets...YUMMY.
And one of the many perks of being with so much family is that
I get to sit and eat my own food...
since there are so many people willing to entertain my boys.
After breakfast Miles had a little snooze.
While everyone was lining up and getting ready for the parade.
Or filling out fifty or so raffle tickets with family member names.
Then it was time to load everyone onto the float.
Cooper is ready!
Uncle Brent drove the tractor that pulled our trailer.
We had fun riding in the parade.
Cooper waved his flag and threw candy to kids.
After we went by main street the boys and I bailed off
and went to join Grandma to watch the rest of the parade.
There goes Derek!
He threw Cooper a Tootsie Roll
Derek's cousin Tara helped entertain Miles while I took pictures.
He wanted down so bad that we finally gave in and let him play in the dirt.
After that Uncle Dennis took him over where the football team was filling
water balloons for the bathtub race (I'll explain that later) and washed him off.
And then we finished watching the parade.
This was about the point where Cooper took his sucker out of his mouth and yelled,
"Howdy Partners!" to these girls on horses!
