Back in late July...
(I'm trying to catch up, I promise!😁)
we went to Missionary Church Midwest District Family Camp. I grew up going to Family Camp, though it's only been on these grounds since I was a freshman in high school. But it's fun to live close enough (to Ottawa, KS) to make a weekend trip out of it. We arrived and registered and set up camp.
Turns out, we were the only tent campers, so we had the whole area to ourselves.
Only half a mile from the nearest restroom!! ha.
We were finished in time to enjoy snow cones with the group.
We got to see a lot of friends we hadn't seen in a long time! Some from Wichita, some from a church in Nebraska my Dad pastored...
And my Grandpa Secor and new G'ma Jan!
(Who never miss camp!)

My childhood friend, Amanda, was there and it was so great to catch up!
I took Owen swimming with her kids.
These crazy guys choose fishing over everything.
Miles found he really likes fishing from a paddle boat. Alone.
This one always needs alone time. I don't blame him.
After we changed out of our suits, Owen saw this bug and asked me to take a photo so he could show Miles. 💙
Then hit the pool for a while before bedtime.
The 'big' guys all got up early to do some fishing.
Miles found his groove in the paddle boat. Alone.
He caught his personal best bass that morning!
In fact, I was asleep in the tent and heard the commotion from there! ha.

Derek took a video of him telling about catching it because he thought it was so funny how Miles' adrenaline was making his voice shaky!
Miles had another one to show Owen when he woke up.
My boys love to fish!
By then, it was time to go to breakfast.
Then Sunday morning service.
Back to tear down camp.
(Didn't we just put it up!?)
And a few casts into the pond. For whatever reason, by guys kiss their fish. 😖
We headed to the other pond and Owen wanted to ride in a canoe.
I went with Cooper in the paddle boat and he was nice enough to take my photo with my only catch.
(I do not kiss my fish!)
Honestly, we did a lot of swip swapping boats and getting fishing lines, and boats, stuck in the trees.
And no one complained too much... haha!
We're already making plans to attend Family Camp in 2020!
