Derek was a volunteer for Miles' end of the year field trip.
It was at The Gathering Place, a huge new park in Tulsa. Though park is hardly the word for it! Google and YouTube have tons of photos and videos, so if you're interested, check those out.
Derek was placed as responsible adult in charge of three boys, one of them was Miles.
That was fun... I'm pretty sure he lost sight of them immediately, but don't tell anyone! :)
He did wrangle them for the most part and they had tons of fun.
Miles yelled that he found a diamond in the mining area causing all the kids within earshot to scramble to his location! hahahaha! He did not, in fact, find a diamond.
Just a slightly transparent rock.
Derek was informed that he could take Miles home with him early when the field trip ended, rather than have him ride the bus back to the school. So they walked around and checked out a little more of the park.
Then they grabbed a scooter, one of Tulsa's fun new attractions, and took it for a spin!
And ice cream on the way home! Miles had a great day!
Unfortunately, The Gathering Place is closed now due to all the flooding. It's right along the river, which is swiftly creeping up into the park. :(
