Before they left town, Derek's parents went to church with us, came back for lunch and got hair done. Then it was time to say goodbyes. It's so fun to have family close enough to make trips like this!
It was such a nice day that we decided to load up and go out to the lease property to hike around.
After posing for a photo...
The boys were off to catch creatures!
This creek is what Miles had been looking forward to, and no matter how much we warned him about getting into the cold water far enough to fill his boots...
Creature Catching was the only thing on his mind!
It didn't take him long to start snagging little frogs.
Owen got to hold one. He had it up so I could take a photo, but somehow only its leg shows as it's trying to escape his grip.
Miles sometimes had more than one creature captured.
Since the bean fields were pretty wet, some puddle stomping happened too.
Which resulted in the youngest boy having a muddy bottom.
We were ready to leave and I was already back at the car when I heard Miles shouting for joy!! He'd been hoping for a little crayfish the whole time and caught on right.at.the.last.minute.
Unfortunately, by then he had stopped even trying to stay dry, which meant he was riding home sans pants!
(He gave me permission to post this photo😂)
