Our local Walmart totally wins at social media, which as you know is something near and dear to my heart. Ha. They had an Elf on the Shelf over the holidays and we started to look for Sparks anytime we went to Walmart.
The above post stated that we should look for Sparks and comment if we spotted him. But we only saw him on their Instagram feed, no matter how hard the boys looked while at the store. Sparks riding the Fornite lama was the boys' favorite, but we got a kick out of all the posts that featured Sparks.
Then one day right after we were there, and Miles actually looked for him in the arcade...
we saw this!
I left a comment and got this reply from Walmart.
So, I got in touch with their social media team and set up a time during Christmas break to have the boys arrive at the store to spot Sparks. We found him (where I'd been told he'd be) in the electronics department! Just hanging around...
We don't have our own Elf on the Shelf, but somehow my boys knew not to touch him.
But they posed for a photo for sure. :)
And also let Surge, the Walmart Instagramer, take one too.
Then he gave each of the boys a pin.
Because they found Sparks!
And since I was willing to sign the needed forms, the boys were featured on Walmarts Instagram too.
Owen loved the pin(s), Surge had some extra of the round, yellow pins and gave them to the boys saying, "Now you're officially part of our team.". So when we pulled into the garage back at home, Owen said, "What? Why are we home? I'm a stay at Walmart guy now!"! 😂
We were at Walmart a couple days later and the manager, Frankie (see first photo of this post), said, "Hey! It's the Elf on the Shelf guys!". Haha! Claim to fame. #walmart
