Seeing Santa: 2018 Edition

Do we choose what city to live in based on Bass Pro Shop locations?  Nope!  But so far, it's worked out really well for us. haha!  We headed over to our Broken Arrow BPS, knowing Santa would be there.

I went with the boys and checked in a little earlier than Derek could arrive.  We figured there would be a line, so we'd grab our "Bass Pass" and wait for Derek to get off work.  Turns out, the BPS has gone digital.  We checked in via in Ipad and got text alerts about when it was our turn to see Santa.  our wait was only expected to be 11 minutes.

So we spent some time playing on the four wheelers.

Owen thinks he big stuff 'driving' one.

😂

I kept getting updates, then it was suddenly our turn.  We stalled just a little, waiting on Derek to arrive, then got in line.

Derek made it in time to join us in line.  Miles gave Owen a pep talk about the big guy.

But he was still a little shy about it, even though he's been saying for weeks he wants to do it.

Santa knows how to handle this: Show the candy canes that are the prize for sitting upon his lap.

That did it!  Even Miles climbed up... though this might be the last year for that!
Poor Santa!!

Since we were in the first 100 people to visit Santa that night, the boys each got a plush penguin.  Owen handed his back to Derek and sadly said, "But I asked for a Hot Wheels track."!

He wasn't upset though and easily distracted by the lincoln logs.

We wandered around Santa's Wonderland playing games with shooting themes.

And the dirt.  Yep.
Owen declared, "I like this game!".

 It was actually kinetic sand!

The remote control car was working.  Nine times out of ten the batteries are dead.  Not tonight.

Owen even got a turn before we ran it out of juice! :)

We did the elf ornament craft.
(Then accidentally left Cooper's there)

And dropped wish lists in the mailbox to Santa.
(Side note: We like Santa, but my kids totally know where their gifts actually come from!  Rest assured we've never led them on about any of this.  It's just fun.)

After a quick look at the fish...  we were out of there.

Merry Christmas!
