Highland Park Awards - First Trimester 2018

The boys' school held an awards assembly and all the parents of kids receiving awards got an email giving them a heads up.  We knew what award Miles was getting, but just knew Cooper was getting an award, not what it was for.  So we showed up and got settled on the gym floor.  Cooper, along with a group of other kids, got to enter in a sprint and high five all the teachers, because he got a perfect attendance award!
(Miles had one sick day)

They posed them all on the risers for a photo, that's when he spotted us and waved.

Cooper got his name called again and won a PE award.

I guess he's outstanding in phys ed?  Owen is the best cheerleader for his big bros, for real.  :)

The Principal talked a little, explaining what the next group of awards were.  Each class has a winner as the year goes by that spell out the word "TIGERS" the Broken Arrow mascot.  Miles had won for "T" - Tenacity!  He'd already celebrated this earlier in the year with Pizza with the Principal, but was honored at the awards ceremony.

He doesn't love being called out or having to go up front of a group.

And he made a super shy face once he got onto the risers with the group.

Even after Owen cheered for him so, so sweetly again.

Speaking of Owen.  Did you hear him at the end of that video?  He was over it by then.

Derek took him to go potty.  Then decided to make the half mile hike to get the van and pull closer since the awards were almost over.  That's why he missed this!  (oops)
We should pay more attention to final grades, I guess?

I didn't know Coop was getting this one!

So that was an exciting awards assembly!

We're so proud of both boys and they're accomplishments, not only in academics,
but in the guys they are becoming.
