Lewis & Clark: 5th Grade Production

Cooper's 5th Grade class did a play presentation in November: "The Adventures of Lewis & Clark".  At first he didn't think he wanted a part, mostly because they were holding the practices during recess time. Ha.  But as they started practicing the songs, they needed some Native Americans in costume and he decided he wanted to do that.  So we ordered a $7 costume from Amazon and made some alterations.

And I hand-stitched some moccasins out of felt...
that ended up barely showing once he had his costume on. 🙈

We arrived at the auditorium the night of the play.

And realized our seats wouldn't allow us to see Cooper at all.  ha.
(He's on the right peeking out at me, but behind the curtain from our seats)

So we quickly found seats on the other side of the room!

And waited, ever so patiently, for the show to start. :)

When the show started, Owen sang along, and tried to convince me he needed to get up and dance int he aisle!

On one of the songs, Cooper sat in the front...

 ...to grind corn.  :)

And finished the song singing up front.

And on the last song, I finally let Owen dance in the aisle.

We had to run to Walmart after the play...
Cooper was freezing and a little embarrassed to be in costume! Haha.

Then we went home for celebratory ice cream sundaes!

All the 5th graders did well and it was fun play with lots of historical facts.
Good job, Cooper!

Cooper's favorite part might have been that I braided his hair.
And the way it looked the next morning!

He talked me into letting him go to school like that!!
