Doe Down: By Cooper

Youth firearm season for deer started the Friday of Fall Break.  So Cooper got to hit the woods with Daddy on Friday afternoon, all day Saturday, and Sunday.

That's a lot of early morning wake up calls, hiking to the stand in the dark and cold, and sitting.

A lot of sitting.  And looking.  And waiting.
They had a nice buck walk out the first night, but Cooper's nerves got the best of him, and he couldn't get the trigger to pull before the buck moved and he didn't have a good shot.  "Buck Fever".

But finally, he got the job done!  He made a perfect shot on a doe...

And recovered her and brought her home!

Since some of you may not appreciate all the photos that followed, I'll just leave you with this one.  Cooper (and Miles some too) helped process and get the meat into the freezer.

I'm proud of Cooper and thankful for the meat his deer provides.
