The first day of school. We prepped things.
We packed lunches.
This is a new thing for us since Peoria's school lunches were free.
When Miles found out he'd be cold lunching it, he specifically asked for Fruit by the Foot in his lunch. Apparently his friend in Peoria ate one in his lunch everyday. :)
Then, you know me, we had a photo shoot.

Which Owen wanted in on.
Miles ready for 3rd Grade!
Both excited and nervous.

And me, totally grieving summer's end and spending all day with these guys.
We also took a photo in front of their new school.
And were allowed to walk them to their classrooms on the first day.
Ready, set...
Go! Owen snagged a Fruit by the Foot for himself and I told him he could eat it after the boys were at school. I didn't realize that he'd brought it along to eat as soon as the boys were at school! I was able to laugh about this to help dry my tears. :)
Then later insisted on a GoGurt, another snack intended for school lunches.
He also talked me into a game of Candy Land at home. He beat me.
He helped do some baking to make up for beating me. ha.
He didn't take a nap at home, but as soon as we were sitting still in the school pick up line,
he was out!
The school drop off/pick up line has taken some getting used to! It's a much longer process than in Peoria. Yikes. But we're all settling into a new routine and a new school.
