AWANA Closing Program 2018

After our belongings were packed into boxes, we headed to the AWANA closing program.

There is always singing before the awards.

So we enjoy watching the kids up front.

Don't let the previous photo of Owen fool you though, he didn't sit still for more than three seconds.

But we caught what we could of the songs.

And then the awards.  Miles cut it close this year!  He said the last couple verses that night to finish his book and get a book award!

Cooper had finished his book a couple weeks before.

They asked before hand if any of the 4th graders would like to speak...
we didn't know it, but Cooper had volunteered.

He gave a sweet little speech about how much he's enjoyed this AWANA program and how much he'll miss it after we move.  And also mentioned that he's scared of the tarantulas and scorpions in Oklahoma.  (They still need to prove to me that those actually live around Tulsa. ha.)

Then we went downstairs for ice cream bars!

I'm proud of these boys for all their memorization and commitment to AWANA.  I'm also thankful for the body of Christ at Oak Grove Bible church, it's not where we attend, but these people have poured into, encouraged, and loved my boys so well!
