...a city we'll soon call home.

Derek's company was purchased and is being consolidated with another TV post-production facility in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. We recently left the kids with friends and spent a weekend there.

Derek spent some time in the new office then we drove around town a while. We met Derek's new boss and his wife, along with another co-worker for dinner. We went to fun little place in downtown Broken Arrow.
The next day, we met with a realtor then on our own went to some open houses. One had a bidet. It wasn't a house we were ready to make an offer on. :)
We did a lot of driving. We took our hotel coffee and spent a lot of time checking out potential neighborhood and doing drive by's of houses for sale.
That night we caught the KU game while we ate dinner.
We were in Tulsa when daylight savings time began and we all lost an hour of sleep. Or some of us did, apparently everyone else in our hotel slept the extra hour, since we were the only ones at breakfast!
We spent the morning checking out the downtown area of Tulsa. Derek had heard about the Center of the Universe, which was really cool! When you stand in the center, your voice echoes, but not when standing right outside of it...
We also went into Antoinette Baking Co. Such a cute place!
Another cool downtown-ish location was the Boxyard. It's little shops made out of shipping containers.
Some of them even had rooftop seating.
And... Tulsa has a Bass Pro Shop! So we won't be leaving that behind.
They also have a Trader Joe's. :) We haven't lived near one of those before!
The Wichita State Shockers also play in Tulsa once a year! Since they moved to the American Athletic conference, they don't play in Peoria anymore. So we've joked that we're just following them to cities they play in. :)
We wrapped up our Tour of Tulsa and headed to the airport. We had to fly all the way to Charlotte, North Carolina then on to Peoria. In Charlotte, we had flight delays...
So long that the airport brought us snacks and drinks.
We also heard from G'ma Pam that Cooper was feeling sick with a sore throat and croupy cough... and that Miles was throwing up. Oh boy. We were glad when we finally boarded and were headed toward home! Even if it was in anticipation of a sick day the next day.
As heartbroken as we are to leave Peoria, a city we've grown to love, Tulsa also seems like a great city, our next adventure. Pray for us as we sort through our stuff, our emotions and a huge to-do list in preparation for relocation by the first of June.
