Merry "Christmas" Eve! 2017

As usual, we picked a day before we left for Wichita to be our "Christmas" at home.  On "Christmas Eve" we ate Chinese take out in the living room.

Then grabbed a few photos of the boys by the tree.

Oh, the excitement of wrapped gifts! :)

Cooper read us the Christmas story from his Adventure Bible.

Next, Miles started the gift exchanging by giving the gift he'd purchased for Owen.

Then standing back in great expectation for Owen to open it.

What happened next was pretty hilarious.  Don't feel obligated to watch all three minutes of this video...  but Owen wanted to throw away every.single.tiny.scrap of wrapping paper before moving on!

The next little bit went about like that, with the boys taking turn opening and Owen throwing away all the trash.

He also got to open his Dinoco Cruz!  I was surprised that he gave such a somber reaction to this gift... as I hoped he'd be excited!  It was the only thing he'd talked about wanting for Christmas all month! ha...  maybe he shows his elation like his Daddy. 😏  Or simply preoccupied by the enormous amount of paper it was wrapped in!

He did play with it the rest of the evening, so even though his excitement didn't show all that much, he like the gift.

We spent the rest of the night playing with gifts and playing new games.
