September 28th was our 15th wedding anniversary. It fell on a Thursday, so on Saturday, we had G'ma Pam come over to stay with the boys, and we went out for dinner.
We always have a pretty serious discussion about where we'll go when we go out. Partly because we don't do it often enough! We like unique and locally owned restaurants with interesting food. Derek puts a lot of pressure on himself to make sure we're making the right choice. It take a lot of research! π In the end, we settled on Jonah's, a seafood restaurant Derek had been to before with guys from work. It's right by the river, and we arrived right at sunset.
So we snapped a couple photos since we were early for our reservation.
And we snap photos anyway, who am I kidding? π
This was my first time having oysters this way. I liked them!
Derek always has.
We also had crab stuffed mushrooms.... YUM!
We both ordered fish dishes and they were wonderful. I had a Florida Sunfish and Derek had grouper. Then we went to Zion Coffee Company for, well... coffee!
Espresso anyway. I had a vanilla latte, my go to.
And Derek had his usual, an Americano.
It's nice to sit and chat, sans kiddos, over coffee.
(Or stare at each other and take photos?)
It was our first time at Zion, I highly recommend it. Good to the last drop! heh.
Fifteen years has flown by, I treasure each moment and day with Derek. Looking forward to many, many more years, days and moments together.
