Bessmer Becoming Barron - Back Home + Bonus Stop

After a day full of swimming, wedding, dinner and dancing, then swimming again, we had some seriously tired boys the next morning!

We finally got everyone around and the car loaded to hit the road.

Fairly early, because we wanted to be in Omaha by lunchtime.  We traveled back across I-80 and I snapped a photo of the Nebraska State Capitol building, which was always a landmark meaning we were close to G'ma's house.

My friend, Lindsay, and her family live in Omaha.  We went to church together in Wichita and were involved in the college and career age group for a few years around the time Derek and I got married.    We moved away to Florida,  then Lindsay met Craig, got married and moved to Nebraska.  Lindsay actually brought Craig to our wedding, that was the first time we met him. :)

We keep in touch and she left a comment on my Facebook page a while back about out littles needing to meet.  It got me thinking about how we'd be traveling to Nebraska for Ashley's wedding...  so I contacted her to see if we could meet them somewhere in Omaha for lunch on our way back home.  Turns out they live right off of I-80 and invited us to their HOME for lunch.   And our babies got to meet and play!

So did our bigger kids!  Coop & Miles got along great with Kailey.

The last time we saw them was while I was pregnant with Miles, so Cooper was 2yrs and Kailey was 3yrs old.

That was at a church reunion get-together in Wichita, when a whole group of us were there! :)

Back to the current, we ate lunch and the adults had some time to visit and catch up, while the biggest kids headed outside.

Lydia needed to go down for a nap, so Owen read some of her books to pass time.

I'm so glad we had the chance for a quick visit and for our friend's hospitality!

We eventually made our way back to Illinois...
and to our local Wal-Mart.  Someone had a birthday the next day, which requires a cake!

And according to Cooper, it also required the traditional late night door decorations.  After Miles fell asleep, the rest of us decorated...  it got a little extravagant this time.  :)

We had such a great weekend!  Labor Day gave us Monday/Miles' Birthday off....
So all that, coming up next!
