So Long Summer Weekend - Wichita Bound

All summer Derek had said he needed to go to Kansas and hang tree stands and trail cameras for his fall deer hunt.  So we made plans to go for a weekend in August.  Since we were making the trip, my sisters that live in Texas and California decided they would head to Wichita too! 👏👏👏
So, early one summer morning, we loaded up and hit the road toward Kansas!

It always takes us so much longer than it should to make that drive. ha.  But by evening, we were at Derek's parent's house!  Owen didn't waste any time catching some snuggles with Aunt Mik.

Cooper and Miles wasted even less time asking the "Funcles"😏 to play video games.

Owen prefers games like memory, with Grandpa.

Or a round of Mr Mouth with Grandma.
(They had this game when Derek and Tyler were little.
Someone in the family found it in a store and bought it again!!!)

Debbie had some old photos out, so we did a lot of reminiscing that evening.

Boxes of photo hold things like Derek in highschool, playing his guitar.

...in a band.

And adolescent Derek in a shirt that says, " the Hunter".

And Derek's first car.
A 1969 Mustang Fastback

There was also this...

The contents found in Derek's coat pockets in 1986.

Derek says there was a hole in his pocket and things escaped through it into the lining of his coat.  That's where Debbie found it all one day and kept it because it was so cute.  Thirty years later, Derek gave her permission to (please) throw it all away.  haha!

Meanwhile: Owen tried to catch and torture Grandma's cat.
