Owen was pretty unsuspecting of our day's activities, even though I had him try on his mittens.
On Christmas, each of the grandkiddos found one of these coupons in their goodie bags from G'ma & Papa. (Great G'pa Secor and New G'ma Jan were in on this gift too)
So we all met at the ice rink and grabbed a pair of skates. My little family required both the biggest (Derek) and the smallest (Owen) skates offered!
But you can imagine how it goes when you tie ice skates onto an 18 month old...
It was kind of a riot! :)
The kids were all good sports about it.
Ice skating just isn't for everyone. ha.
Miles was learning fast, but took a pretty good spill and bumped his head on the ice. So, more ice it was!
We sat for a few minutes holding, yes, ice on it.
Jonah soon had a matching bump and we were told they had helmets available...
Back to the ice we went. It was kind of a tag team event with parents/aunt/uncles helping kids.
And G'ma upstairs with littles who were tired of skates.
Because at some point, enough is enough, right?
Miles took a break with Uncle Drew to check out the hockey practice on the next rink.
But was soon back to it! On his own even!
We all had a great time.
Well, most of us, my Mom finally took some of the babies back home for naps.
💕 Which allowed for some couple skating. 💕
We really, really had a fun afternoon. Thanks, Mom & Dad and G'ma & G'pa!!

I put together some of the video clips, oh what fun!
(Though my backward skating skills were tested while taking these video clips. I.did.not.fall. 😊)

CUTE!!!
