Cooper really wanted to play baseball this summer. So after making sure he really, really wanted to, we signed him up for the the Christian Center Rookie League. He was placed on the Cubs team.
We all enjoyed the season. And Cooper, who had never played before, improved quite a bit over the summer.
...just gotta get him to quit tugging on his pants.
And work on sprinting.
I think he thought he was going fast, but his run is downright hilarious.
Which we kinda got a kick out of.
Derek helped coach...
So was close by to do a little...well...coaching. ha.
Cooper got lots of hits and got to score often.
It's not a super competitive level and they strongly encourage good sportsmanship. The boys cheer for their teammates well, and often can be heard encouraging the other team too.
And it's coach pitch, so they boys almost always get a hit when up to bat.
And since they're all beginners, rarely get out in the infield.
Miles mostly likes to ask for $.60 for a bag of popcorn at every game.
I bring Owen's snacks and toys that keep him occupied pretty well.
A good season of learning.
And Cooper talked us into signing him up for fall ball. So he'll play a short fall season too.
...gotta work on his sprinting.
