We made a planned stop in Kansas City for the night on our way back home from Wichita. First on the agenda: IKEA
It's a big store, so it's good exercise, right? Unless you're sitting watching a movie.
We grabbed lunch there.
The IKEA restaurant has all the little things that make life easier. Like disposable bibs.
IKEA also has free childcare, which we took advantage of for the first time. Amazing. :) Though it's not like it would provide us a "Date in IKEA" or anything since the kids have to be potty trained- so no Owen. And Cooper was pushing the limit for the height restrictions, so they'll probably never all be 'eligible' at the same time.
IKEA also offers a free coffee for anyone with a rewards card. Maybe it is like a date. :)
Next, we headed over to Aunt Brenda's. Where the boys immediately convinced Ryan to come outside to play.
Owen did some swinging in the swing all my boys have used at Uncle Bruce & Aunt Brenda's house.
And Miles... always looking for creatures.
Speaking of creatures. Owen found one of the cats.
Next we made the five minute drive over to Derek's brother's house to see their almost-two-year-old, Mason. He broke his leg over Memorial Day weekend... we came with gifts from friends in Wichita.
Which apparently my boys thought needed demonstrated.
And Grandma Debbie sent a -few- things. :)
It was nice to visit Mason... who should get his cast of in a week! (Six weeks total in the cast)
We went back to Aunt Brenda's where there was more outside fun.
But back inside, Aunt Brenda had made her famous "Brenda Bars" and cupcakes!
They were birthday cupcakes for Owen. And if you can't tell, he loved us singing to him again!
He also loved the cupcakes. Thanks, Aunt Brenda!
The next day we made the rest of the drive home.
Where Owen relaxed in his new jammies from Aunt Anna while 'reading' his new poke-a-dot book from G'ma.
Meanwhile... the rest of us where unloading the car. Road trips are a lot of work.
Glad you guys could stop by! You're always welcome to stay with us!
