So, Some More Summer

My big boys attended (part of) VBS at the church that holds AWANA club.
It was a "Cave Quest" theme.

I took Owen with me to pick them up, and he liked the lights that lit the aisle.  Shortly after this photo he pulled on it and unplugged the whole thing... oops!

That was also the week that "Sandlot" started.  The organization Cooper is playing baseball with holds this two mornings a week.  It's just a group of kids, with adult supervision, playing old fashioned sandlot baseball.   Cooper loves it!

And it's giving him more experience, since he's new to the sport.

We take our water and toys and go enjoy watching.

Well, mostly enjoy watching.

Sometimes freedom from the stroller helps Owen's mood.
(Miles is not pictured because he's playing on the playground right behind us)

One night before I took them to VBS, Derek had to work late so I took the boys to Chick-fil-A.  I had coupons that were going to expire.  Will all combined offers, we all ate for a grand total of $4.99! :)  Frosted Lemonade included.  I love a good deal.   Miles loves ketchup.  He puts it on his sandwich, and asks for some on the side to dip it in.  He doesn't like fries.  Yes, you read that right...doesn't like fries.  Even smothered in ketchup.  So weird.

This was the first time Owen has been to Chick-fil-A since he eats table food.  He was pretty chill about it though. ha.

An employee came around and gave all the boys little cows.  When she handed it to Owen, he hugged it and squealed with delight... much to the nice lady's surprise.

Then he put it in his mouth.  She laughed and said,
"Hey, eating cows is frowned upon in this establishment."!

That same week, Derek had to get a couple insert shots of some products.  The boys love it when he brings work home and they get to watch him.  Cooper took this photo of Daddy hard at work.

He spent a lot of time working ahead that week...
Because we were headed on a road trip!

Which means everyone needs to be securely buckled in.

Cooper spent the trip calculating the hours left until we reached Grandma's house.

And finally, we did!
(We actually made the best time we have since Owen was born!)

We wasted about -zero- minutes before we changed into swimsuits and went across the street to the pool.

Papa bought pizza for everyone.

Owen thanked him by helping clean up.
