The week after Easter was spring break for a lot of our local friends. We were invited to the roller skating rink one afternoon while they were out of school. So, we decided to go try it out!
This was the first time my boys had been in a roller rink. Miles used a "skater helper" since he was new to roller skates.
Cooper chose to rent rollerblades and is pretty familiar on them from skating at home. He was flying around the rink in no time!
He played the "Four Corners" game and won a free soda!
So he sat with his friend, Zach, to enjoy the moment. :)
Then he was ready to get right back out there.
It only took about 30 minutes before I couldn't stand it anymore. I hadn't planned on skating. I didn't think I'd even want to. Maybe it was the sound of skates on the wood floor, or that my kids needed assistance... But I gave in and laced up some skates. It was like reuniting with a long lost friend. :)
We had a blast!!
(Mommy is still the fastest!)
Miles decided I could be his new skater helper.
But then he was skating without help in no time.
He even got in line for the limbo with me.
Poor Cooper fell on his first go.
Miles made it a few rounds before he touched the floor and was whistled out.
So I opted to join him in being out.
Meanwhile, Owen had a great time watching from the sidelines with Shelly.
(Thanks, Shelly!)
And even caught a little snooze while cuddling with her.
Emily also entertained him for a while. It was a good arrangement all the way around. :)
I'll leave you with a handful of videos that show some of the fun!
