St Louis

We had set aside some Christmas money for the purpose of taking a short family getaway.  So when Derek had President's Day off, we decided to leave after church on Valentine's Day and head to St Louis for a night.  It's about a two and half hour drive for us.

The Arch is closed for construction, so we couldn't visit there on this trip.  But we got a hotel with a pool, a special treat, and that was our main plan for entertainment. 

At a hotel very near IKEA, because, well... my special treat. :)

The boys were thrilled to swim!
They swam in the afternoon, again in the evening, and in the morning before we checked out.

Owen liked the water, and also checking himself out in the mirror, while rocking his little swim trunks.

The hotel lobby had a large game of checkers, so the boys played a game.

The lobby also had cookies.

And milk.

Owen didn't get cookies and milk (or coffee) but he had a good time exploring the room.  Oh boy.
