Schmied Lake

During a wonderful warm week recently, we were invited to "Grammies" house to go fishing.  Some friends from Life Group have parents who live on a lake. (Otherwise known as the iPhone swallowing lake from nearly two years ago!)  Miles was ecstatic to learn that Emma had collected worms and "Gramps" had housed them until we came to go fishing.

He baited one up and had a bite in no time!  He was thrilled!

This is Miles' biggest fish to date!

Cooper started reeling them in pretty quick too!

And then releasing, which I sometime wonder if they think is more fun than catching.

In normal Cooper fashion, he caught one after another...  I don't know how this kid does it!

He's always ready to announce his catch to anyone within earshot.

...and then let it go.

Miles caught at least 3 and Cooper more than 10!  If you lose count, it's a good night!!

And if it includes hot dogs over the fire, it's an even better night!

Then if you get to go out on the boat, you really can't beat it.

Some of the kiddos that didn't go on the boat found a nest with eggs in it.  That was an exciting moment too.

Back on the dock, Cooper was still at it.  At one point, he turned to leave and said, "Just one more cast." and pulled in this guy!  ...oh, brother.  :)

The night just kept getting better when Cooper caught a frog on the bank.

And s'mores to end things was the perfect treat.
