Cooper and Miles are helping me compose this post about what they did while I was in San Francisco for Sister Weekend... They stayed with a friend during the day while Derek went to work on Thursday, but Derek took off Friday and Monday to stay home with them.
After Daddy picked us up from Hayden's house, we went to Bass Pro Shop. We took your Aldi quarters from the car and used them to shoot at the targets. Then we looked at baits. And saw the fish.
Daddy let us lay in his bed.
Cooper: "I fell asleep"
Miles: "I didn't, I wasn't tired."
We went to a hockey game. Everyone crashed into the wall!
That was when Ethan got there.
(This was our annual church hockey game event to watch the Peoria Rivermen)
We took pictures for you, Mommy. (Insert Mommy smile here.)
Our team won!
That was looking at Lego's at Toys-R-Us.
Cooper: "It was hard to decide because there were so many."
"That's the one I wanted."
"That's my gift card from Aunt Brenda. I had to take off my gloves to get it out."
"I put them together as soon as we got home."
We read books at bedtime.
We went to church. Cooper: "I cried because church reminded me how much I missed you."
That was the night we partied. We bought all kinds of stuff at Walmart.
Miles: "I had gloves on and it made drop the Coke at the store and it shot down the aisle!"
We watched tv and played board games at the same time.
Miles: "Those are our flowers we got you."
We were at the airport waiting for you to come home.
You're right there!
Cooper: "You really like tulips. Everyone was looking at us."
I missed them and they missed me. But Derek did a great job 'holding down the fort'! ...he even had the laundry done and the house picked up when I got home! When we first talked about me going, Derek actually emailed my sister without my knowing and said to count me in, he knew I wouldn't want to spend the time or money, but wanted me to go. He's an amazing husband and daddy. Even if he told me when I got home, "I felt like all I did was cook and clean up the whole time.". Ha ha ha ha ha... really? :)
Haha this post was hilarious and good for everyone involved - you get time away and the boys appreciate all you do to take care of them. Win - win!!
