Christmas is Coming

We went to Wichita a few days before Christmas and Derek worked from there.  I worked a little on my part time job too so the boys found plenty to keep occupied.  Like playing games with Grandma Debbie.

Or looking at Alexa's hair.  :)

Wrestling with Uncle Jared.

Bedtime snacks of ice cream, perfectly acceptable at Grandma's house.

Making shadow puppets in Papa's projector screen. (it was a Christmas movie slideshow)

And bubble baths are always fun.

On Christmas Eve the boys and I went to see friends for a while.

I did a couple haircuts...

We had fun catching up with Rachel and Kylee!

And that evening, in a flurry of activity the Rouses showed up!

Jonah wanted to know why it wasn't snowing in "Tansas"...
Me too, Jonah.

Mom snuck Jared away and dressed him in a Santa suit.

Then sent him around to the front door to surprise the kids.
(She couldn't figure out how to stuff him down the chimney!)

He played the part and greeted everyone with a "Ho, ho, ho!".

While they tried to convince him they knew who was under the beard.

He denied it all the way.

Somehow in the midst of it Miles yelled, "Santa's not real!".  And got really upset when I scolded him for saying that... something we've been asking him not to say to people.  We don't tell our kids that Santa is real, but I don't want my kids breaking the 'news' to kids who's parent's do!  HA.

So then he was in tears for the group photo.
Merry Christmas (eve)!  :)

  1. Too funny Amy about Miles. We never did the Santa thing either. I was threatened by many neighborhood moms that if my kids broke the news - they'd come get me!! At least you were around family when Miles made his declaration. No harm done! :)
