Fire Station Tour

A fellow homeschool mom set up a trip to a local forestation for a tour and invited us to go along.
So we spent an afternoon climbing around on all kind of big toys!

We got a tour of the whole place, including the sleeping quarters.

...and then got to get some hands on experience.

They firefighters demonstrated some equipment.

Explaining how and why it all works.

They boys listened well...

And were always excited when they were allowed to touch something.

Or climb on something.  As we got to know them, we found out both of the firefighters homeschool their kids.

Miles was excited to be taller than the tires.

And that he could make faces at his reflection.

Last stop was the ambulance.

These interns were so patient with our boys and they're hilarious questions.

And them wanting to take their blood pressure at least 87 times.

It was a great afternoon at the firestation!

(Thanks for setting it up Daphne!  And to the East Peoria Fire Department for being such great hosts!)
