While in Wichita over Labor Day, my Mom was walking Miles back from the pool. She kept having to wait on him and he asked her, "Don't you know three year olds are the slowest thing ever?"! Well, apparently turning four didn't help matters, we're always still waiting on Miles. A recent trip to the pond found him lagging farther and farther behind...
We did finally make it to the water where the boys got their bait ready.
Cooper can get his own ready and gets right down to business.
Miles needs a little help getting set up, but was pretty excited to use his new fishing pole from Aunt Anna.
....until he saw a bug.
And some horseback riders that went by.
He did fish a little, but how can he concentrate when there are bugs?
One of the creatures he found was this big green grasshopper.
And he fell partially into the pond trying to catch some other sort of bug.
At least they both stay occupied, it means I can fish a little.
(While I'm not taking pictures anyway!)
(While I'm not taking pictures anyway!)
Or while I don't have my line so tangled it won't cast. Oops.
Derek was the only one to get a catch, he wasn't near me and didn't take a picture.
But we all had a good time.
So much so, that a quick living room floor nap was in order afterword.
