It's been cool and rainy this week. (Should we really still be running our furnace in May?!) But last week was warm(ish) and sunny! We took advantage of that and made our first visit to bicycle safety town.
Homeschooling perk #2,975: Recess at bicycle safety town.
Miles spent much more time on his bike than the last time we rode. But he's slow enough I can walk around with him and not have trouble keeping up. In fact, it would have been better exercise for me if he'd picked up the pace just a little.
I'm not in shape enough to even try to keep up with Cooper! We had the place to ourselves, so Cooper was off and riding..usually in the distance. The whole park is fenced in and secure, another reason it's so great.
After riding a while, the boys wanted to play on the playground.
Miles left his helmet on to play. I'm all for this idea... I sometimes wish I wouldn't look like the paranoid person that I am, if I made him wear a helmet on all playgrounds. :)
Especially with this spinning, dizzying bowl of craziness.
After a while, Miles adjusted his helmet...
And we were off and riding again. I had a little laugh when Miles rode past this tar spot and yelled back, "Mom, don't step in the syrup!".
We had a couple errands to run later that afternoon,
One where Miles got to push this little cart around.
Little Cart = Miles thinks he's big stuff.
On the way home, all the fun caught up with him though.
