I don't like to glorify anything evil about halloween. But I love the whole costume thing... maybe it goes back to my days of dress up as a kid with my sisters. (Think "Little House on the Prairie" bonnets and floor length skirts. Every day.) So before we get onto our trick or treat pictures, a little trip down a memory lane of costumes.
Cooper's first year, he was a lumberjack.
The next year he was "Cooper 3000".
Then there was this, which is still my all time favorite.
My little nerds. (sigh)
Next up was pirates.
And last year a boxer and an army man.
(Anyone remember how we dressed Cooper in camouflage and then lost him the Bass Pro Shop? Oops.)
That brings us to this year. I like simple costumes that don't cost money. :) And I prefer costumes that aren't all inclusive. My boys now have an opinion about what they dress as now so we compromised on ninjas.
I dressed them in all black and wrapped red fabric scraps around them in the appropriate places. We grabbed a few accessories at the Dollar Tree and all of the sudden (ninja like? :) I had a couple ninjas.
I've been fighting off ninjas for a couple days now.
But I have to see their eyes to know who's attacking me from behind.
One of these brown eyes accidentally got elbowed when he surprised me.
"If you see a ninja, it's already too late".
"Ninjas don't ask for candy, they take it before you know it's gone."
Love the costume trip down memory lane - all are so cute! Good thing they have a creative mom!!
ReplyDeleteI didn't know so much about ninja's. I feel like I've watched a documentary (Cooper and Miles style) and am now equipped with the knowledge I need. I will keep a close eye out for ninjas, and I'll keep a tight grip on my candy!
