New and Great

Last Sunday Cooper had the camera taking random pictures.

He kept taking pictures of the clock...

And then coming into the kitchen to show me the time on the camera display...

So that he would know how much longer until our guests arrived.
My boys always wait impatiently when we're expecting company.

Finally... Great Grandpa and Grandma Secor are here!

Cooper ran out for a hug from "New Grandma Jan" as we call her.  Derek's Grandma is "G'ma Jan" so this Grandma got nicknamed, "New G'ma Jan" when she married my Grandpa last April.

Miles, who has been acting shy lately, wasn't as forward about a hug.

He actually took off in a friendly game of chase...and grandma pursued him.

But it was Grandpa who finally caught up with him in the neighbors yard!

We'd barely shown them around the house and settled in when Cooper serenaded them with his banjo.

Next Miles said the pledge of allegiance for them.

And then Grandma started pulling gifts our of her purse and really making friends.

We had a nice evening and then put Grandpa in charge of bedtime stories.

My boys were up early the next morning looking for more fun.  Miles and Grandpa had a lot of fun with the bug vacuum and disposed of quite a few pesky insects.

All too soon, it was time to hug goodbye.

Grandma & Grandpa have been traveling all around the midwest visiting family.

We're so glad they made our house one of their pit stops!
