After dinner on Miles' Birthday, we continued the celebration at home. He opened a few cards that had come in the mail.
We'd just seen the Mleynek/Van Gundy family and Bauer family had sent gifts too. But instead of just letting Miles open them all, we made him work for them. :) You might remember (or not) Cooper's 4th birthday when we got him a bike and instead of wrapping it, we set up a scavenger hunt for him to go find it. So on his 5th birthday, Cooper asked us if he could have a gift hunt again, so we did. On Miles' birthday it was Cooper who asked to keep up this tradition and give Miles clues to follow to each gift. We gave Miles the first clue and off he went.
He was thrilled to find a gift at each clue.
Like stickers! ...and cash. But stickers!
Aunt Anna's gift that was shipped to Bass Pro Shop was a tent!
Cooper picked out this bathtub Hot Wheels track.
A Bug Vacuum and accessories from Aunt Brenda & Uncle Bruce has already come in handy for personal pest control services.
We went from room to room and gift to gift.... Cooper just as excited as Miles.
Cooper picked out this one too.
What he didn't know was that they were on sale BOGO.
I'd gotten him one too and he didn't know.
But two is better than one.
Next we did a video call marathon and grandparents and cousins wished Miles a happy birthday 'face to face'.
If you want to invest the time, here is the scavenger hunt video, once again cut down significantly in time by Derek. It's still over three minutes long, but that's from twelve minutes of footage. Thanks, Derek. :)
