A few weeks ago we went on a Saturday afternoon drive to Matthiessen State Park.
Miles slept most of the way there but woke in time for a little car picnic before our hike.
After some nourishment... off we went!
There were a few falls but most were hard to get pictures of.
You could look over the bridges and see them.
And there were quite a few stairs.
When Miles came to them, he would stop and see where Daddy was.
Then put his arms out...
And wait for Daddy to give him a lift.
And then took off down the path again.
Kind of. He stops for every bug or worm he sees.
And some he doesn't yet.
So while we did this...
Derek and Cooper often kept going.
Which meant this was my view most of the hike.
Can you even see them? :)
The second half of our party waited for us to catch up every little bit
and Miles was always proud to show off whatever creature(s) he'd acquired.
Cooper moved a few rocks in search too, but was better at being quick and keeping up.
We went off the path a little to check out the river and saw several rafts go by.
And checked out more falls on the way back.
These boys throw rocks into every puddle or stream they could find.
We all enjoyed an afternoon outdoors.
And went with home with the marks to prove it.
